Interesting news arrived from San Diego Comic Con for fans of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. Jon-Paul Dumont, the game director, revealed details about a story expansion called Durin’s Folk will release in the fourth quarter of 2025. This will add more to the end-game experience, including new gameplay elements and undisclosed secrets.
Expansions often breathe new life into games, and this one looks promising for players who’ve been invested in reclaiming Moria. What might the new mechanics be? What kind of secrets could they be hiding? It’s the kind of thing that keeps curiosity alive.
Alongside the announcement, a teaser trailer was shared to give a glimpse of what’s coming. You can watch it here:
There’s also a dedicated page to wishlist the expansion now, which you might want to do if you plan to return to Moria when Durin’s Folk arrives.
More information will be shared through the official Discord, Steam events, and social channels. Plus, the developers plan to host a Forge Talk to discuss the expansion further, though the date hasn’t been set yet.
It’s always nice when a game you care about gets more content to dig into. I wonder how the story will continue and what new challenges will await us in the depths of Moria…
