Resident Evil Requiem Story Leak Reveals Major Plot Twists and Series Finale

Resident Evil Requiem is preparing to be a big deal for fans of the franchise, with a guy spilling details about its story and its role as the final numbered entry. The game will close the chapter on the long-running saga involving Umbrella and Raccoon City, while also setting the stage for a fresh start with new characters and narratives.

Dusk Golem, known for frequent Resident Evil scoops, shared new insights on the game’s plot and gameplay. The guy previously revealed that Requiem’s combat will resemble that of The Last of Us, including vehicle mechanics. Now, the focus is on the story, which promises to wrap up the timeline established by Resident Evil 1, 2, and 0, and move beyond it.

According to Dusk Golem, Capcom plans for Resident Evil Requiem to be the last numbered game in the series. RE9 will act as both a conclusion and a fresh beginning, closing the book on everything tied to Umbrella, Raccoon City, and their legacy. This means the game will conclude the saga that began with the original titles, freeing future games from the constraints of past storylines.

For years, the developers have been restricted by the need to link game elements to familiar locations and characters, but that will change. Future entries will introduce new characters and horror themes without being bound by the franchise’s history. It’s a bold move that might divide fans but could open up some creative possibilities.

One juicy spoiler involves Grace, the FBI Technical Analyst, and her monstrous mother, Alyssa. The guy also confirmed that the towering female monster seen in the trailers is actually Alyssa. Grace figures this out early on, although she initially struggles to accept it. It’s a twist that might surprise some, but Grace’s recognition of her mother adds a personal layer to the horror.

Dusk Golem hinted that many players will connect the dots once the Gamescom reveal and embargo lift. The relationship between Grace and Alyssa seems central to the narrative, tying back to the series’ roots while pushing the story forward.
