Capcom just teased us with a quick peek at Resident Evil Requiem during their latest Spotlight event, and I gotta say, it’s got me hooked already! The video is brief but showcases both first-person and third-person perspectives, offering a glimpse of what survival horror fans can expect from this upcoming title.
The game runs on the RE Engine and promises a single-player experience where you play as Grace Ashcroft, trying to survive a chilling adventure that’s supposed to keep you on edge. The devs mentioned they’re using new tech alongside their experience to deliver stronger characters and gameplay that pulls you deeper into the story than before.
There were rumors about two main characters, Grace and Leon S. Kennedy. But the latest word is that Leon might not fit the horror vibe, so the focus will likely stay on Grace. Perhaps Leon will make a brief appearance, or possibly in a DLC? Who knows!
The core concept is what they call “addictive fear.” Since horror’s the heart of the series, the idea is that Grace will have to face and overcome her fears throughout the story, which sounds pretty intense.
Set 30 years after the missile strike on Raccoon City, this game ties back to the classic outbreak events, connecting the story deeply with Umbrella and the series’ roots.
The gameplay clip itself is just a few seconds long, so don’t expect a full reveal yet. But honestly, any new footage right now is a treat for Resident Evil fans. I’m curious how much scarier and more tense the game will feel compared to earlier entries.
Resident Evil Requiem is slated for release on February 27th, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Can’t wait to see more as we get closer!
