The Resident Evil universe is about to witness an unprecedented collaboration as the first full trailer (embedded above) for the upcoming animated movie, Resident Evil: Death Island, reveals Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine working together for the first time. Produced by Quebico and renowned anime studio TMS Entertainment, the film is set to hit the big screen in Japan on July 7, with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment handling worldwide distribution.
Resident Evil: Death Island is the fourth animated film in the franchise and marks the fourth time Leon is featured as a main protagonist. Set between the events of Resident Evil 6 and 7. After Resident Evil: Vendetta, the movie follows Leon as he attempts to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, only to be thwarted by a mysterious woman. Simultaneously, Chris Redfield investigates a zombie outbreak in San Francisco.
Not only does Death Island bring together Leon and Jill, but it also showcases a reunion between siblings Chris and Claire Redfield. Fans are particularly excited about the portrayal of Jill’s story after the events of Resident Evil 5 when Albert Wesker brainwashed her.
