Rematch, the new third-person, PvP multiplayer soccer game from Sloclap, has reached an impressive milestone by attracting one million distinct players in its first 24 hours. Released on June 19, 2025, the game has drawn attention across platforms, reflecting the excitement built during its beta phase.
The game’s official X shared the news, expressing gratitude towards the community and confirming that the team is already focused on fixing issues and improving the experience. It’s worth noting that the one million figure counts players who have played the game, including those accessing it through Game Pass, rather than direct sales.
One million unique players in 24 hours. Seeing so many of you jump into Rematch on day one is incredible.🫶

Sloclap also recently shared a list of upcoming updates addressing lag, desynchronisation, bugs, and stability. The developer’s top priority is introducing full crossplay functionality. Since this is Sloclap’s first game to include crossplay, they ran into unexpected technical challenges that prevented the feature from launching with the game. Thankfully, a basic working version exists now, and the team is working towards a complete implementation.
Isn’t it interesting how quickly players jumped into Rematch? I wonder how crossplay will change the community dynamics once it is fully available. Yikes, managing live multiplayer games can be quite the balancing act!
