Razer has unveiled the Naga V3 Pro, a wireless gaming mouse built around three swappable side-panel layouts. After four years without a major Naga upgrade, the new model brings a Focus Pro sensor, Gen-4 optical switches, and second-generation HyperSpeed wireless to the series. Razer set the launch price at $179.99 / £179.99 / €200, putting the Naga V3 Pro firmly in premium territory. The cost is easier to justify for players who use one mouse across several genres, but it is a much tougher sell for anyone who only needs a simple two-button setup.
Three side panels cover different genres
The Naga V3 Pro keeps the series’ main trick: side panels that snap on and off without tools. Owners can switch between 12-button, six-button, and two-button configurations, allowing the mouse to move from macro-heavy strategy and MMO play to more conventional shooter controls.
Razer positions the 12-button setup for MMOs, the six-button version for MOBAs and battle royales, and the two-button plate for FPS games or general use. Razer has also added a lockable ring-finger button and an extra button beside the pinky rest. Two buttons beside the left mouse button and another pair beneath the scroll wheel remain part of the main design. With the 12-button panel attached, the mouse offers 23 programmable inputs; the six-button and two-button layouts bring the total counts to 17 and 13, respectively.
The Naga V3 Pro is lighter, but still not an ultralight mouse
The redesigned Naga weighs 97g without a side panel, or between 112g and 117g with one attached. The top figure is down from 134g for the previous generation, which should make the mouse easier to move during play, but it remains well above the 40-60g range associated with the lightest competitive mice. Its body is also squatter and rounder than an FPS-focused design, preserving the shape that defines the Naga line.
Inside, the third-generation Focus Pro sensor reaches 50,000 DPI and tracks at up to 950 IPS. Those figures are far beyond what most players will need, but the high tracking ceiling gives the mouse plenty of room for fast movement. Gen-4 optical switches are rated as 12% lighter than the previous generation, while the updated wireless system brings the Naga closer to Razer’s other flagship mice.
Wireless operation starts at a 1,000 Hz polling rate. Razer says the Naga V3 Pro can reach 8,000 Hz when paired with the Mouse Dock Pro or HyperPolling Wireless Dongle, both of which are separate accessories.
Smart scrolling joins the modular controls
Razer has borrowed the Basilisk line’s smart scroll wheel for the Naga V3 Pro. It can switch automatically between notched and free-spin scrolling, and users can choose between two additional tactile modes.
The result is a mouse with an unusually broad feature set. Players who stay with one genre may find a cheaper Razer model more sensible, while anyone moving between shooters, strategy games, and MMOs has a clearer reason to consider the Naga V3 Pro. The $179.99 price still makes that flexibility a serious luxury.
