Ubisoft just announced the Rainbow Six Siege X Seasonal Series, a fresh esports tournament series that anyone can join. This marks a new chapter where PC and console players face off together, breaking down barriers between platforms. The competition will stretch across Summer, Autumn, and Winter phases, offering multiple chances to compete.
Here’s how it works: the series kicks off with the Open Phase, where teams rack up points based on their in-game results. The top eight teams from this leaderboard snag spots in the Contenders League. That league runs over two weekends using a round-robin style, where the best six advance to the Contenders Finals to fight for the grand prize. The two teams knocked out here don’t just pack up; they head to the Promise Division Finals.
Teams missing out on the Contenders League aren’t left out either. They get a shot in the Promise Division, which also runs over two weekends, with the top two earning spots in the Promise Division Finals. Those finals combine four Promise Division teams with the two eliminated Contenders teams, battling it out for in-game R6 Credits. It’s a nice consolation prize and a chance to keep the grind going.
The Seasonal Series will come back for Autumn and Winter editions after this inaugural run, so players can keep testing their skills year-round. Prize pools differ by region, but for example, the EU/MENA Contenders Finals winners will take home €2250 total, that’s €450 per player plus 7200 in-game currency. Not bad at all for an open circuit.
Ubisoft’s been pushing grassroots esports hard in 2025. Just last month, they brought back the Siege Cup, open across five regions. Plus, they launched a competition hub focused on Tier 2 and 3 scenes, building out the Rainbow Six ecosystem beyond the pros.
So, is this the move that will finally blur the lines between console and PC players in Rainbow Six Siege esports? Guess Ubisoft’s betting on it. Open circuits mean more chances to prove yourself, but also more chaos in matchmaking. Are we ready for that? Either way, it’s a solid push for inclusivity and opportunity.
