Quarantine Zone: The Last Check’s Free Miami Zero Expansion Is Available Now

The DLC returns to Miami at the outbreak's start with more than 30 survivors, hidden contraband, and new threats to the checkpoint.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check now has a free expansion that takes players to Miami at the start of the outbreak, with a new campaign built around screening survivors and making tough calls. Xbox confirmed in its October 15 announcement that Miami Zero is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, including through Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. The expansion is free to owners of the original game.

Miami Zero gives the checkpoint work more to uncover than infection symptoms. More than 30 survivors bring their own personalities, appearances, voice lines, and reactions, while new inspection tools and minigames add fresh ways to assess them. Players will also need to search for drugs concealed under hats, swallowed, hidden in a fist, or stashed elsewhere.

A new research center lets players experiment on infected people, with some tests producing mutants that can threaten the checkpoint. A campaign-spanning quest offers another way out: repair a ship and sail toward calmer waters. The expansion also adds a new storyline and quests, while the original campaign has received updates and improvements.

Miami’s changing weather runs from bright sunshine to dust storms and tropical rain. New scenery includes a pier, city streets, and a music festival, with upgraded environmental audio helping set the scene for the outbreak’s early days.
