Quake Rooftops Jam adds 19 free maps built around rooftops, an unusual setting for the 1996 shooter’s tight corridors. The community pack arrived on October 2, giving mapmakers a chance to turn the skyline into the main play space.
The designs take the theme in different directions. Robert Yang’s Mermaids in the Basement is a nonlinear map set in a sunlit Mediterranean village partly submerged in water. Once, But No More sprawls across a city with varied architecture and platforming, while City of Traitors threads through gothic spires in a misty purple void.
You can get the pack from Slipseer. It requires a copy of Quake and a source port such as Ironwail or vkQuake. Extract the pack into a new folder named qrtjam inside your Quake folder, then launch the source port with the command-line argument -game qrtjam.
