No More Robots publisher Mike Rose said Valve rejected his complaint about a Steam review for Little Rocket Lab that explicitly targeted Muslims. Rose posted on Bluesky on December 10 to share the moderator response attached to the review, which he said had been edited by its author to add more detailed complaints. The moderator note reads: “This review was previously flagged by a developer, but that has been cleared by a moderator. You cannot flag it again, unless the reviewer changes the review.”
The review itself now includes lines such as “Also has muslims… Noone is asking for this type of stuff, in a building cozy game.” Rose wrote that Valve told him the complaint was rejected and that the platform effectively considers statements like “I don’t like muslims” a valid reason to leave a negative review.
Rose said he has seen an increase in “horrid reviews” across Steam pages and described being left without recourse: “‘Has muslims, thumbs down’ is now just written on the Steam page for Little Rocket Lab, and I cannot remove it,” he wrote. “Anyone coming in to look at our game will rightly just think ‘What the fuck?’, and there’s nothing I can do.”
Valve has now rejected my complaint, confirming that "I don't like muslims" is a valid reason to leave a negative review on a game on SteamThis is where we're at now.

Valve’s review policy on Steam instructs users not to “direct abuse or insults at other players, developers, or groups,” language that appears to conflict with the review text in question. The full guidelines are available from Valve on Steam Support. The post drew a large reaction online, with over 1,800 people sharing or replying to Rose’s Bluesky thread as of the report. The exchange comes amid wider scrutiny of Valve’s decisions on moderation and platform policy.
