An internal video for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake leaked online on Nov. 24 before being taken down, but not before players grabbed screenshots and clips that reveal a pretty big change to one of the original game’s supporting characters. The footage, which was later removed for copyright reasons, includes early gameplay snippets, concept art, and narrative notes. Clips and images have since spread across social platforms, and the most discussed element is how Ubisoft has reconceived Farah’s role in the story.
In the original 2003 release, Farah mostly supported the Prince from the sidelines with a bow. The leaked presentation recasts her as a 19-year-old archer described as “cold-hearted, graceful, and strong-willed,” giving her a defined arc and a much more visible part in encounters. She is not playable in the footage, but she fights, performs combo attacks with the Prince, and factors into combat and narrative beats in a way fans did not expect.
Beyond Farah’s profile, the leak shows updated character models, richer environments, and a reworked combat system built on an upgraded engine. The presentation implies Ubisoft is aiming for a January 2026 release window, which lines up with the rumor mill around major year-end events, including The Game Awards 2025 where this title might appear.
Community reaction is split. Some players welcome a fuller, more active Farah who contributes directly to combat and story, arguing it modernizes the relationship between the two leads. Others worry a stronger Farah risks shifting focus away from the Prince and altering the tone that defined the original game. The leaked assets also hint at broader narrative changes and a push toward more cinematic presentation, not just a visual polish. If the leak is representative of the final product, Ubisoft appears to be treating the project as a reinterpretation rather than a shot-for-shot remaster. Copies of the removed footage and screenshot packs continue to circulate on Reddit and X, where players are combing every frame for hints about voice casting, combat mechanics, and story beats.
