A new tip claims Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake will hit PS5 on 16 January, according to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, which would put the launch a little over six weeks from now if it proves accurate. Henderson previously suggested a mid-January window and has now narrowed that window to the specific date in a recent update. The report leaves open the possibility of a trailer at The Game Awards on 12 December and suggests pre-orders could appear on the PS Store before Christmas.
Ubisoft has already said in financial reports that the remake should arrive before April 2026, and Henderson’s tip would sit comfortably inside that window. The project has a messy history: it was first announced more than five years ago, briefly pegged for January 2021, then delayed and handed to a different studio after a reboot. There are signs the build is in late-stage work. Some outlets and insiders describe the title as essentially ready to ship, though others still treat the date as unconfirmed and subject to change.
The remake has also shown up in unofficial footage. Console PC Gaming previously published a look at a leaked internal video that highlighted Farah as a more active presence in the remake, and readers can view that coverage for extra context on narrative shifts in the new build, our earlier look at the leaked internal video showing Farah as a more active presence. The game has suffered from a lot of stop-start development and earlier delays, so take any single date with caution until Ubisoft makes an official announcement. A shadow drop remains possible but seems less likely than a planned reveal and pre-order window tied to a Game Awards appearance.
