Brisbane will host Pokémon GO City Safari on September 26 and 27, 2026, with event gameplay running from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. Seven areas across the city will feature City Safari themed PokéStops and Gyms, giving Trainers several places to collect stamps and plan their weekend route.
Niantic’s official Brisbane event guide also details the city hub, community meetups, ticket rules, and a Pokémon Regional Championships event happening during the same weekend.
Seven Brisbane zones will host City Safari activities
Trainers can begin their City Safari adventure anywhere in Brisbane. The event zones are:
- Brisbane City Centre
- Roma Street Parkland
- Queensland Cultural Centre
- South Bank
- Kangaroo Point
- Brisbane River Walk
- New Farm Park
Each area will include City Safari themed PokéStops and Gyms. Visiting them will help Trainers collect stamps for the in-game GO Stamp Rally.
Queen Street Mall is the event hub
Queen Street Mall, located at Queen St, Brisbane City QLD 4000, will host the City Safari hub from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time on both event days. Trainers can pick up a Pikachu sun visor, claim a free City Safari: Brisbane sticker pack, take photos at the Photo Wall, and begin collecting stamps in the Brisbane City Centre zone.
The sticker packs will be available in limited quantities each day while supplies last.
GO Stamp Rally rewards include explorer-hat Eevee
Brisbane’s GO Stamp Rally will let Trainers collect up to eight stamps. Each stamp will award an encounter with Eevee wearing an explorer hat, and lucky Trainers may find a Shiny version.
Ticket holders will also receive two event bonuses from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on their ticketed day while they are in Brisbane. They can make up to five Special Trades during the day, and each trade will cost 50% less Stardust.
Community activities are scheduled across the weekend
An official community photo will take place at King George Square, 87C Roma St, Brisbane City QLD 4000, on Sunday, September 27, at 12:00 p.m. local time. If bad weather affects the event, the photo will move to Queen Street Mall on Saturday, September 26, at 12:00 p.m. local time.
Trainers looking to trade can attend the Trade Hour at King George Square on Sunday, September 27, at 4:00 p.m. local time.
Regional Championships will run alongside City Safari
The Pokémon Regional Championships will return to Oceania in Brisbane from September 25 through 27, 2026. The event will include tournaments for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the Pokémon video games, and Pokémon GO.
Competition and spectating will take place at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre in Hall 4 on Grey Street, South Brisbane, QLD 410. Registration and event information are available through the Brisbane Regional Championships page.
Tickets and practical details
Tickets are available through the Pokémon GO Event Ticketing page. Trainers must be physically present in Brisbane and open Pokémon GO during the date and time shown on their ticket to access the event-exclusive gameplay.
Players without tickets can still attend the in-person live activities, but they will not receive the exclusive gameplay content. Tickets are limited, sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and are nonrefundable except where applicable law or the Terms of Service require otherwise.
Child accounts can attend with a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must purchase a ticket for themselves and each child attending, and the email connected to the adult’s Pokémon GO account must match the email on file with Kids @ Scopely Explore or Pokémon Trainer Central.
City Safari will run in ordinary weather, although extreme weather or a natural disaster could lead to a suspension. Checking the local forecast and wearing suitable clothing will be important for a weekend spent moving between Brisbane’s event zones.
