Trainers, it’s an exciting time in the world of Pokémon GO! Black and White Kyurem have finally arrived, bringing their formidable power to the battlefield. These two striking Legendary Pokémon aren’t just visually stunning but also major contenders in both PvE and PvP gameplay.

With their unique typing as Dragon, they introduce new strategies for trainers looking to dominate raids and battles.

How to Obtain Black & White Kyurem

While both Kyurem forms share identical stats, their movesets make all the difference. Each variant has access to its signature move:

  • Black Kyurem – Freeze Shock
  • White Kyurem – Ice Burn

These moves can be acquired by fusing Glaciate Kyurem with Zekrom or Reshiram, respectively. But don’t worry, if you don’t have Glaciate Kyurem, you can still obtain these powerful forms, though their signature moves won’t be available.

Now, let’s break down their stats and see how powerful they are!

Black & White Kyurem Stats

Both Pokémon boast impressive base stats, making them serious threats:

  • ATK: 310
  • DEF: 183
  • HP: 245
  • Max CP: 5206

Their dual typing makes them powerful against a variety of Pokémon. However, Steel-types pose a challenge, but worry not! Both forms have access to moves that counter Steel-types effectively.

Freeze Shock (Black Kyurem) – The Ice Cannon

Freeze Shock is an incredibly strong Ice-type Charged Move that deals massive damage and comes with an added PvP debuff.

PvE Analysis

  • 1-bar Ice-type Charged Move
  • 160 DMG with a 1.5-second cooldown
  • DPS: 106.67 – the highest DPS among all Pokémon in Pokémon GO!

When paired with Dragon Tail, Black Kyurem becomes one of the strongest Ice-type attackers in the game.

PvP Analysis

  • 120 DMG for 60 energy
  • 30% chance to lower the opponent’s ATK by 1 stage
  • Stronger than Outrage in PvP due to its debuff potential

Ice Burn (White Kyurem) – A Strategic Powerhouse

White Kyurem’s signature move, Ice Burn, offers a balanced mix of power and efficiency.

PvE Analysis

  • 2-bar Ice-type Charged Move
  • 90 DMG per bar with a short cooldown
  • Outperforms Avalanche due to its higher efficiency and versatility

PvP Analysis

  • 120 DMG for 60 energy
  • 30% chance to burn the opponent (lowering ATK)

While not as overwhelmingly strong as Freeze Shock, Ice Burn offers a more versatile and energy-efficient move set.

How Do Black & White Kyurem Perform in Raids?

Both forms of Kyurem are fantastic raid attackers, particularly against Dragon-type Raid Bosses. Let’s break it down:

Best Raid Matchups

  • Against Dragon-types: Their Ice-type moves hit Pokémon like Haxorus, Rayquaza, and Palkia Origin extremely hard.
  • Against Steel-types: With coverage moves, they hold their own even in bad matchups.

Their high CP and incredible DPS make them must-have Pokémon for any serious trainer.

Final Thoughts

Black and White Kyurem have made a huge impact on Pokémon GO, and their PvE and PvP potential is undeniable. Their moves, stats, and versatility make them some of the best Dragon/Ice Pokémon we’ve seen so far.

What are your thoughts? Which form do you prefer? Will Black Kyurem’s Freeze Shock reign supreme, or will White Kyurem’s Ice Burn prove to be the smarter choice?
