Phasmophobia is bringing back its annual Halloween event, Crimson Eye, running in-game from 9th October – 31st October. The event returns with guaranteed Blood Moon weather on select maps, new adjustments meant to improve the event experience, and both community and personal rewards.
Blood Moon weather and map rotation
When the Blood Moon rises, investigations will become more dangerous. Ghosts will have increased speed during hunts, and sanity will drain faster. Successful investigations during Blood Moon weather will pay out more, with all rewards received while the Blood Moon is active boosted by 10%.
Maps hosting guaranteed Blood Moon weather this year are:
- 6 Tanglewood Drive
- Camp Woodwind
- Grafton Farmhouse
- Bleasdale Farmhouse
- Point Hope
- 42 Edgefield Road
- 13 Willow Street
These maps will rotate in groups of four each day and will guarantee Blood Moon weather. Maps not listed above, and those not active on a given day, will retain their usual random chance of Blood Moon weather.
Rewards, goals and auto-claiming
Crimson Eye will continue the split between community goals and personal goals that was introduced during Cursed Hollow. Completing investigations during Blood Moon weather contributes toward event progress, and community milestones will unlock rewards for everyone automatically once reached.
- Community Goal 1 – Receive the Child of the Cult ID Card & Badge set.
- Community Goal 2 – Receive the Blood Moon trophy. Note: Players who unlocked the Blood Moon trophy in 2024 will not receive an additional copy.
- Personal Goal 1 – Receive the animated Child of the Cult ID Card.
- Personal Goal 2 – Upgrade the Crimson Eye trophy. This goal can be completed up to three times.
Rewards earned during Blood Moon weather will receive the 10% boost, and once event goals are hit the rewards will be auto-claimed for all players so no manual claiming is required.
Events, streams and IRL plans
Kinetic Games will be present at TwitchCon San Diego and has a booth in the Indie Zone at #4818. The developer will run a crew of streamers from the show floor with exclusive Twitch Drop rewards. For a look at last year’s event format and changes, see the Cursed Hollow blog linked above.
An early preview of Crimson Eye will be available on official partner streams starting 8th October. The official Kinetic Games Partner streamers will offer those previews and will include Twitch Drop rewards.
