Phasmophobia resets its roadmap, and 1.0 is now a 2027 story

Kinetic Games said the July 21 rework of 13 Willow Street will kick off a packed run of quality-of-life updates before Unity 6, a November character overhaul, and the delayed 1.0 launch.

Kinetic Games used its latest Phasmophobia roadmap to redraw the rest of 2026 and push the game’s full release into next year. The studio said Phasmophobia 1.0 will now arrive in the second half of 2027, and the game will come to Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time.

That delay comes with a busier cleanup plan for the rest of 2026. 13 Willow Street will be reworked on July 21, 2026 alongside the first Quality of Life update, while a second QoL update is due in August 2026. Kinetic Games said the goal is to focus on stability, fixes, and playability instead of piling on new content.

The Willow rework will keep the map’s basic layout in place, but it will add redesigned rooms, new theming, and more interactions and objects to find. On the gameplay side, the planned quality-of-life work includes new inventory keybinds, better held-item visibility, eye adaptation for console players, VR changes, faster equipment switching, improved photo detection, and a more responsive shop and journal flow.

After those updates, Unity 6 is due in October 2026. Kinetic Games said that upgrade will bring stability work, a new lighting system, accessibility options, and bug fixes. November will then bring a second Player Character update with new animations, character models, UI changes, more clothing, and fresh customization options.

Phasmophobia 1.0 ghost redesign work in progress

The studio also shared a first look at the 1.0 visual overhaul, showing an improved Patient 07 model and saying every ghost model will get a fresh redesign. It said Conduits will replace the Bone as a collectible during each contract, with each one tied to a specific ghost and used to add more lore to the world of Phasmophobia.

Kinetic Games said Crimson Eye and Winter’s Jest will return later in the year, though Winter’s Jest will do so without leaderboards. The roadmap also points to a rework of 42 Edgefield Road and one more content update later in 2026 that will change Weekly Challenges and add more Voice Recognition features.

For now, the big takeaway is simple. Phasmophobia 1.0 and its next new map are both moving to 2027, while the rest of this year leans hard into fixes, system work, and map refreshes. Kinetic Games said it plans to share more through regular Development Previews as those updates get closer.

Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia is a 4 player online co-op psychological horror where you and your team members of paranormal investigators will enter haunted locations filled with paranormal activity and gather as much evidence of the paranormal as you can. You will use your ghost hunting equipment to search for and record evidence of whatever ghost is haunting the location to sell onto a ghost removal team.

You can choose to support your team by monitoring the location with CCTV cameras and motion sensors from the safety of the truck or head inside and get your hands dirty with the ghostly activity that will get increasingly hostile as time goes on.
