Reports surfaced that some ARC Raiders players on PC are modifying local config files to bypass the game’s limits and gain a visual edge in matches. Players are editing hidden settings to force ultra-wide field of view and high-visibility presets that aren’t normally available through the options menu. That change makes targets easier to spot and gives those users a broader view of the battlefield.
A short clip shared on X by ARC Raiders Alerts shows the config edits in action and includes the message: “ARC Raiders PC players are bypassing in-game limits by modifying local config files to force ultra-wide FOV and high-visibility presets.” The post also says, “This exploit provides a significant competitive advantage. Embark needs to look into this issue and fix it ASAP.” You can view the clip on X here.

The ARC Raiders community on Reddit has also flagged the problem, and several streamer clips circulating on Twitch appear to show people taking advantage of the altered settings. The identities of specific streamers are not being named here, but the footage is public on streaming platforms.
[FOR VISIBILITY] Devs need to patch this ASAP (not me in the video)

Embark Studios has been actively patching post-launch issues and previously said anti-cheat updates to address out-of-map exploits are coming. The studio has not published a specific timetable for a config-file fix yet. This kind of tampering is different from third-party aim bots. It’s low-tech and built around local file edits, but the result is the same, a visual advantage that affects fair play. Players concerned about similar issues should also watch for other bugs and exploits, like earlier reports of a weapon-draw bug that left characters unable to equip guns during fights documented here.
Anyone who sees suspicious behavior in matches should capture video and report it to Embark so the studio can track and reproduce the edits. A server-side or launcher-based validation should close this loophole, but until a fix arrives players will need to rely on developer action and reporting.
