PAYDAY 3 Will Make Every Heist Part of the Base Game This September
Paid heist DLC will leave every storefront on August 25, but current owners will keep access and receive bonus masks and a weapon preset.

PAYDAY 3 will make every heist part of its base game when the September update arrives, including heists released in the future. The team confirmed the change in an official Steam announcement, which also outlined major updates planned for August and September.
Once the September update goes live, players will no longer need to own separate heist DLC to play those jobs together. The change is designed to give the entire playerbase the same access to past and future heists, clearing the way for everyone to play through the upcoming Campaign Mode from beginning to end.
The fourth episode of The Future of PAYDAY with Paul outlines the two update windows:
Unreal Engine 5 and a Cook Off rework are planned for August
The August update will move PAYDAY 3 to Unreal Engine 5. The engine upgrade is intended to give the team a foundation for improving the game in new ways, although the announcement did not provide a specific release date within the month.
Cook Off will also receive a rework in the August update. The team did not detail the changes coming to the heist, so players will have to wait for more information before seeing how the job will change.
September’s anniversary update adds Campaign Mode and Weapon Perks
September will mark the third anniversary of PAYDAY 3, and the anniversary update will bring a long list of additions. The biggest new systems and features include:
- Campaign Mode with a completely rewritten storyline
- Weapon Perks
- A Shooting Range
- Enemy Improvements
- A paid Crimebond Collection with an old fan-favorite weapon to unlock
The update will also give players the updated tutorial that arrived with Update 3.6 as part of a more complete route through the game’s content. With the campaign story rewritten, the anniversary update will give the crew a fresh way to move through the heists.
Paid heist DLC will be delisted on August 25
All paid heist DLC will be removed from every storefront on August 25, 2026. Existing owners will keep access to the content after that date, and the September update will add rewards based on the heist DLC they own.
The seven individual heists being delisted are:
- Syntax Error Heist
- Boys in Blue Heist
- Houston Breakout Heist
- Fear & Greed Heist
- Party Powder Heist
- Delivery Charge Heist
- Shopping Spree Heist
Several bundles containing those heists will also leave storefronts on the same date:
- Chapter 1 – Syntax Error Bundle
- Chapter 2 – Boys in Blue Bundle
- Chapter 3 – Houston Breakout Bundle
- Chapter 4 – Fear & Greed Bundle
- Year 1 Edition and Year 1 Pass
- 2nd Anniversary Bundle
Existing DLC owners will receive exclusive rewards
Players who own at least one paid heist DLC before the delisting date will receive the S40 “Partisan” Preset Weapon after the September update. Ownership can come from an individual DLC or a bundle.
Each individual heist DLC will also grant a Unique Preset Mask themed around that heist. Anyone who owns all seven heist DLCs will receive the “Flame Keeper” Preset Mask as an extra reward.

The result is a much simpler ownership model for PAYDAY 3: every player will have access to the same heists, while current DLC owners will receive bonus items for supporting the game’s earlier content.
