Path of Exile 2 players can look forward to significant updates as Grinding Gear Games (GGG) prepares to roll out a major patch later this week. This update addresses various player concerns while introducing new features and improvements many have requested.
The developers shared insights through a recent video presentation, highlighting key aspects of the patch. Here are some notable changes expected in the game:
Patch Notes
- You can now zoom out of the map more for easier navigation. Better load times to get into the map.
- Way more boss tiles, now one in four. New tablet to spawn more boss zones from towers.
- Three new Tower maps to make those less dull. Existing one reworked.
- All maps more rewarding and mob density and drop volume has been reworked.
- Less terrain clutter to better be able to see enemies and effects.
- Citadels are not as crazy far out as they used to be. You can now see a pillar of light through the fog indicating where a Citadel is.
- You now have six attempts at the Arbiter of Ash on the lowest tier, less attempts the higher you go. More portals will be added to other pinnacle bosses later.
- Better items in expedition shops, more Omens in Rituals and changes to Strongboxes.
- Not a change per se but some information. They really want to stick with the one portal/death idea for normal maps. But they may reduce penalties in the future (not this patch). Also, they think Waystone generation is in the right place right now.
- Overhauls of a large volume of unique items that will now be better for leveling.
- Fewer bad mods will appear on higher level rare items.
- Fixing Tier 5 items unable to roll some mods (attack speed on crossbows, etc).
- Custom filters will be possible to use on console (big deal!).
- Runes are now able to be re-socketed with new ones.
Brought together by combat balance adjustments:
- Some boss mechanics have their damage reduced.
- Floor effects are now much more visible, some are slower, and they now disappear after an enemy dies rather than sticking around for “after death” kills.
- Armor will be getting a buff. There will be a larger list of buffs including classes like Warrior, but details remain undisclosed.
- Charms will now show number of charges and when they trigger in combat.
This extensive list reflects GGG’s commitment to refining player experience. No specific date has been confirmed beyond “later this week,” but players can expect full patch notes soon detailing all adjustments made during this update cycle.
The gaming community eagerly anticipates how these changes might impact gameplay dynamics and overall enjoyment across various playstyles. Are you ready for these updates?
