Chinese developer JEDY Studio plans to release Parasite Mutant on PS5 sometime in 2026, and a playable demo is available now on PC via Steam. The Steam demo is listed as representing roughly 5% of the finished game, which the developers say translates to an estimated single‑player run of about 10 hours. The demo uses a deliberately retro presentation and modest system requirements, so it should run on many older desktops and laptops.
Combat leans into the classic Parasite Eve rhythm. Players control their character directly but trigger attacks through menu prompts, and there’s a melee option for conserving ammunition. That design choice is a clear homage to the PS1 original and gives the demo a familiar pacing.
Early impressions are mixed. The demo’s combat and the Aya Brea – style protagonist drew praise for design and feel, but testers noted that some shots feel unreliable and the visual tone of the opening level is a little muted. The studio appears to be polishing those areas as development continues. Keep an eye on the Steam page for updates as the team develops the PS5 build and expands the demo. For playtime context, the original Parasite Eve ran about the same length according to HowLongToBeat.
