Palworld left early access on July 10 with its 1.0 update, and players quickly found several visual changes that were not listed in the main update notes. The launch has also brought hundreds of thousands of new and returning players, according to SteamDB’s player charts.
The changes affect some of the Pals that had drawn the strongest comparisons to existing Pokémon designs. Players began documenting the reworks in a Reddit discussion, where the updated models were compared with their earlier versions.
Verdash now has less humanoid proportions and no longer mirrors the legwear associated with Cinderace. The changes make the Grass-type Pal look less like the Pokémon it was often compared to.
Robinquill and Fenglope also received updated details and new color palettes. Robinquill no longer closely matches Decidueye, while Fenglope has been moved further away from the appearance of Cobalion.
Pocketpair has not publicly explained the individual redesigns, and the changes were not called out in the 1.0 notes. For now, they stand as a quiet visual cleanup made alongside Palworld’s full launch.
