Palworld’s v0.6.0 update, titled ‘Tides of Terraria,’ is now live, introducing a hefty batch of new content that fans will want to check out. From a Terraria crossover featuring the infamous Moon Lord to new islands and gameplay mechanics, this patch shakes up the world of Palworld in several interesting ways.

Let’s unpack what’s new and why it might change how you play.

First, the Terraria collaboration adds a distinct dungeon packed with Terraria enemies, letting players gather materials to craft iconic Terraria equipment. There are six new weapons and seven armor pieces inspired by Terraria, plus the Moon Lord raid boss has invaded Palworld. Teaming up with friends and your Pals to take down this terrifying foe will surely be a highlight.

Besides the crossover, the update brings three new island types: Tropical, Iceberg, and Shipwreck Islands, each home to new Pals. You can now fish by crafting rods and bait, spotting fish shadows in water to snag new Pals. Plus, a salvage system lets you ride water Pals and recover rare ores from the ocean floor, which can beef up your weapons.

The mission system adds fresh objectives around the Palpagos Islands, with rewards for helping out islanders. A special series of missions for Zoe lets you earn her trust and recruit her as an ally, a neat twist for players wanting extra companions. And the Pal trust mechanic means spending time with your Pals boosts their stats, giving weaker Pals a chance to shine.

After a day of battling and farming, you and your Pals can rest together, adding a cozy touch. Treasure maps are another new feature, pointing to hidden loot, while enemy factions have started building their bases. Raid these to snag blueprints tied to those factions. The settlements got a makeover, feeling larger and more alive, with many mission NPCs scattered about.

Player level cap is bumped from 60 to 65. Several new buildings have been introduced, including a Pal Surgery Table (for implanting passives and even changing Pal gender), a Fishing Pond for relaxing base-side angling, a Hexolite Quartz Mine, a Large Incubator to hatch multiple eggs simultaneously, and a Palbox Control Device that lets you swap Pals remotely during raids.

Decor players will appreciate the new Clean building material set, which offers futuristic floors and walls. A new turbulence mechanic lets you find air currents to jump high into the sky, a fun little mobility addition.

Five new weapons have been added, including the Charge Rifle, Energy Shotgun, Overheat Rifle, Boost Gun, and Pal Recovery Grenade, the last two aimed at tamers supporting their Pals. New items like whistles, a Growth Acceleration Bell, and fresh food recipes round out the gear additions.

New Arena Features

  • A single-player challenge mode lets you climb ranks by battling Palpagos warriors, earning battle ticket rewards.
  • Rule settings in the arena allow banning certain Pals.
  • A public Pal Box at the arena entrance offers all players shared access.
  • Multiplayer arena spectator mode has been added.

Mechanic and Balance Adjustments

  • Equipment durability can now be toggled in settings.
  • Assigning a cooling Pal to the flea market reduces food spoilage.
  • Lyleen’s “Bountiful Protection” now heals all allies in range.
  • Some aggressive enemies have been made friendly.
  • Pal skill cooldowns tick down even when not summoned.
  • Mounted Pals have improved speed and stamina; some slow Pals got a boost.
  • Bounty hunter lineup expanded.
  • Mission rewards from NPCs have been balanced, with conversation logs reset for fairness.
  • Axel, Marcus, and Victor have been toned down on normal difficulty to reduce Pal Condensation reliance.
  • Power of some active skills like Pal Blast increased.
  • Higher chances of finding books enhancing Pal work aptitude from treasure chests.

Pals and Skins

  • Three new skins added from the 1st anniversary popularity poll: Crown Chillet, Cyber Jetragon, and Desert King Anubis (must own Pal to equip).
  • Pals can now swim, complete with new animations and adjusted water speed.
  • New water skills: Geyser Gush, Aqua Surge, Torrential Blast, Hydro Slicer.
  • New grass skills: Crosswind, Reflect Leaf.
  • New ice skill: Freeze Wall.
  • distinct new skills like Hydro Spin, Thalasonic Laser, High Breach, Lantern Sweep, and several others.
  • New passive skills added.

User Interface Improvements

  • Easy Bulk Storage lets you store all materials in any chest with one click.
  • Pal Condensation UI now auto-selects materials in bulk.
  • Quick selection and setting of Pal presets from the Pal Box UI.
  • Neutral enemies now have green HP bars; only hostile ones show red.

Multiplayer and World

  • Fixed server listing bug for matching versions.
  • More random dungeon patterns added.
  • Fishing spots with visible fish shadows placed worldwide.
  • Salvage spots set out at sea.

Achievements and Bug Fixes

  • Several new achievements introduced.
  • Fixed a Jetragon jump height bug.
  • Many minor bugs addressed.

There’s a lot to unpack in this update, and it clearly shows the developers are pushing Palworld in bold directions. The Terraria tie-in is a bit of a surprise but a welcome one if you’ve spent time in both games. The new islands, missions, and mechanics like fishing and salvage add layers that might keep you hooked longer.

What do you think? Does the Moon Lord invasion have you hyped, or are you more curious about the new Pal trust system? Drop your thoughts below and let’s chat!
