Palworld and No Man’s Sky Crossover Hopes Grow After Another Playful Exchange
Pocketpair publishing chief John "Bucky" Buckley and Hello Games boss Sean Murray have traded playful public messages since 2025, though neither studio has announced a deal.

Talk of a Palworld and No Man’s Sky crossover picked up again across August 18 and 19, 2026, after Pocketpair publishing and communications chief John “Bucky” Buckley and Hello Games boss Sean Murray traded another playful exchange. It is not a confirmation of a collaboration, but it gave fans another reason to keep watching both studios.
The idea has been building for more than a year. In June 2025, Murray reacted with heart-eyes to news of Palworld‘s Terraria crossover, and Bucky answered with an enthusiastic “SEAN!” in a post that remains available on X.

When Murray was teasing No Man’s Sky‘s Xeno Arena update in April, Bucky asked him to “email me, my man,” adding that he had a “FUN COLLAB IDEA” in another public post. In July, he said Pocketpair would like to cross over with No Man’s Sky if the teams could make the concept work from a logistical standpoint.
Palworld’s Terraria update and its collaboration with indie FPS Ultrakill have only made fans more curious about what Pocketpair might try next. Bucky also said earlier this week that players do not realize how many collaboration ideas Pocketpair has rejected or scrapped because they did not fit the survival game.
On August 18, the official No Man’s Sky account responded to that comment by tagging Bucky with: “Bro @Bucky_cm bro @Bucky_cm brooooooooooo ❤️.” The playful message was Hello Games’ clearest public acknowledgment yet of the crossover conversation, which has been building since 2025. The exchange is still visible on X.
Bucky followed up with a playful reference to Eminem’s Stan, presenting himself as a fan waiting for No Man’s Sky to answer in his social-media post. The official No Man’s Sky account answered with the song’s closing turn, joking that the person Bucky had been trying to reach was Murray before adding, “Damn…” The reply came from the No Man’s Sky account.
Fans quickly ran with the exchange. One response captured the appeal in a single sentence: “My two favorite games together? Yes please.” Other replies treated the back-and-forth as a sign that the crossover may be more than a running joke.
For now, neither Pocketpair nor Hello Games has said that a crossover is in production. The idea still depends on whether the developers can create something that feels right for both games, rather than forcing two very different survival experiences together for a quick guest appearance.
The conversation also arrives shortly after No Man’s Sky marked its 10th anniversary following nearly 40 free updates. That long history gives Hello Games and Pocketpair plenty of shared community interest, even if the rumored project remains unconfirmed.
