Overwatch’s Busan, Eichenwalde, and Paraíso maps will change in Season 4
Blizzard's next season will address chokepoints, defender balance, and story details across the three maps on August 11.
Blizzard will rework Busan, Eichenwalde, and Paraíso when Overwatch Season 4 arrives on Tuesday, August 11. The changes will affect map layouts, visual details, and several points that have shaped how teams approach each location.
The reworks follow player feedback and map-voting data. Blizzard producer Ren Soanes explained that the team first looks for layout problems that create frustration, then passes the updated spaces to the art team. The developer also wants map changes to support major story moments when the opportunity fits.
What is changing on each map?
Paraíso will receive new visual details around its capture points. One of those areas will feature a statue of Domina, while Club Sinestesia will get an upgraded appearance.
Eichenwalde is being adjusted to reduce its defender advantage. Blizzard is focusing on the area outside the castle grounds to give attacking teams a better chance to make progress.
Busan appears to be receiving the broadest makeover. The map will have more open space to reduce chokepoints, while an attack will leave behind destruction, graffiti, and keepsakes from the Junkers. Downtown’s tower capture point will show that it has been taken over, and a new jump pad will give players another way to move around the area.
The Busan changes also add a small bit of fun to the scenery. Jiggly Cow will now have company in the form of Jiggly Pig.
Blizzard has reworked other maps in the past, including Antarctic Peninsula, Havana, and Watchpoint Gibraltar. Busan, Eichenwalde, and Paraíso had remained unchanged until these Season 4 plans.
Season 4 will arrive on August 11, 2026, so players will not have long to wait before testing the new layouts and learning how their usual routes have changed.
