Overwatch 2 Season 7: Rise of Darkness Takes the Stage with a Spooky Twist

Blizzard Entertainment released Season 7 of Overwatch 2, titled Rise of Darkness. This new season brings fresh game content and resurrects the much-loved Halloween event uniquely and excitingly. This time, the Halloween event has a unique spin involving collaboration with Diablo 4. Here’s a rundown of what to expect.

The latest season introduces a new Control map set in Samoa, expanding the game’s world and offering new battlefields for players. However, the highlight of this season is undoubtedly the revamped Halloween Terror event, called the Trials of Sanctuary.

Instead of the well-known Junkenstein’s Revenge, Trials of Sanctuary is the new game mode players can explore. You can team up and fight through rounds of AI-controlled enemies using one of the six characters provided: Reinhardt, Pharah, Illari, Lifeweaver, Zarya, and Sombra. Each character has unique abilities that make them well-suited to their roles, like Reinhardt’s new flaming projectiles.

As you progress through the Trials of Sanctuary, you’ll also have the opportunity to find loot that can be used to gain advantages. It’s not just about fending off regular enemies; players must confront and take down formidable bosses. These include versions of characters from the Overwatch and Diablo universes, like Azmodan Wrecking Ball, Butcher Roadhog, and the final boss, Lilith Moira. Enemies like Orisa and Ramattra also make appearances to ramp up the difficulty.

Season 7: Rise of Darkness will be live for the next two months, so players have plenty of time to dive into the new content. Blizzard is also planning further updates and balance changes, so keep an eye out for more news.
