Blizzard is preparing to launch a new season for its popular game, Overwatch 2. “Season 7: Rise of Darkness,” the new season is set to go live on October 10th. Players can look forward to a ton of new content, including a Halloween-themed PvE mode, new skins, and gameplay changes.
In a twist from the usual Junkenstein’s Revenge event, this season features a brand-new Player vs. Environment (PvE) mode called Trials of Sanctuary. Developed in partnership with the Diablo 4 team, the way offers a creepy setting that fits into the Halloween spirit. You can play as characters like Inarius Pharah and Imperious Reinhardt while taking on scary enemies, including Zomnics and bosses such as Butcher Roadhog and Azmodan Wrecking Ball.
As you play through Trials of Sanctuary, you’ll have the chance to earn weapon upgrades. These culminate in a high-stakes fight against Lilith Moira, which promises to be a challenging and rewarding experience.
If you like to collect unique skins, you’re in for a treat. The new season brings 17 new Halloween skins that will be available through both the in-game shop and the Premium Battle Pass. Keep an eye out for the standout Onryō Hanzo Mythic Skin.
The season also brings with it a new Control map named Samoa. Additionally, Sombra is receiving a major update that fans have been asking for. Roadhog is also set to get some changes, although these will come later in the season.
