Escape from Tarkov’s full 1.0 launch put a proper story into the extraction shooter and gave players four possible endings. One of those endings now looks intentionally brutal on paper because a popular Tarkov creator posted that the exit requires handing over 500 million rubles, which is about $6.2 million.
The post, from Tigz on social media, shows the quest objective in plain numbers. Battlestate Games founder Nikita Buyanov has warned that only a small slice of the player base will ever reach the ultimate ending. That warning now has some context because one route literally asks for half a billion rubles in cash. Five hundred million rubles in Tarkov is not pocket change. Players will need to grind raids, sell loot, and hoard currency while spending on ammo, meds, and weapon upkeep. Even for skilled players, the math adds up to weeks or months of focused play. The result is an objective that demands persistence and a tight bankroll strategy more than a single risky raid.
That fits with the direction Battlestate hinted at during 1.0 development, where the studio said escaping would be deliberately difficult and more about persistence than easy completion. Read our earlier look at how 1.0 will aim for balanced hardcore and make escaping a more challenging proposition here. Reactions in the community ranged from bemused to annoyed. Some joked that a few thousand good Scav runs would do it. Others argued that the task is not a quest with an interesting twist; it is a raw grind, and that is disappointing for players hoping for a more narratively satisfying route.
For players keeping score, this particular objective is literal. The post shows the in-game demand as a raw currency figure with no extra steps to make the payout itself fun or exploratory. That puts the emphasis back on economics and farm efficiency rather than on a climactic raid or puzzle. If the ending remains active and unchanged, players who chase it should expect to budget for long-term income. That could push more players toward selling high-value items rather than using them in raids, and it may shift the in-game economy over time in ways only the next few weeks of live play will reveal.
