Starry Studio posted a developer blog on Steam explaining how it will compensate players for Shiny Mods. The studio will export online data on January 18 at 8:00 PT and calculate payouts using the number of Level 17 Mods in each player’s Mod Backpack at that snapshot.
Compensation comes in two forms: selectable Shiny Mods and Random Module Crates (Level 14 – 17), with the crates converted to in‑game dust. The developer capped payouts at five selectable Shiny Mods and 20 Random Module Crates per account.
- 5 – 14 Level 17 Mods: 1 selectable Shiny Mod and 5 random Mod crates
- 15 – 24 Level 17 Mods: 2 selectable Shiny Mods and 10 random Mod crates
- 25 – 44 Level 17 Mods: 3 selectable Shiny Mods and 15 random Mod crates
- 45 – 74 Level 17 Mods: 4 selectable Shiny Mods and 20 random Mod crates
- 75 or more Level 17 Mods: 5 selectable Shiny Mods and 20 random Mod crates
The post notes the studio understands the limits of compensation and says the redesigned Mod system aims to simplify combat going forward. Players who want context on recent balance and system work can review the studio’s December Combat Deviation changes and the follow-up emergency fixes.
CPG previously covered the December Combat Deviation system upgrade and its aftermath; see the developer’s December 23 Combat Deviation upgrade and the team’s emergency fixes that arrived afterward for additional context.
If you want to be eligible for compensation, make sure the Level 17 Mods you expect to count are in your Mod Backpack when the snapshot runs on January 18 at 8:00 PT.
