Once Human is kicking off Crimson Night Showdown as part of Visional Wheel S2: Lunar Revelry on December 10 (PT), with the event running through January 21 and a set of rule changes for Lunacy planned in the same update. The event centers on three new dungeons, Red Vulture Combat Zone, Esoteric Altar, and Hunting Grounds, each composed of 10 floors where enemies increase in strength and aggression as you climb. Red Vulture unlocks with the December 10 update, and the remaining dungeons open one per week until all three are live. When the third dungeon unlocks, leaderboards for each dungeon go live, and ranking rewards will be handed out at the event’s end.
Dungeon runs can be attempted solo or as a team, and solo and team completion times are recorded separately. Lunacy affects both players and enemies inside the dungeons. You can bring items and techs from your Backpack but only three Adrenaline Shots are allowed per run. Dungeons accessed from Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve will have their own difficulty adjustments and independent leaderboards to keep those scenarios fair.

Rewards include challenge task prizes, loot crates that drop Lunar and Crescent mod crates, and trophy collectibles for top leaderboard placings. The event also spawns a loot crate after clearing a dungeon floor set and promises exclusive items for competitors who push for speed. The studio ran a poll on how to handle Lunacy during Lunar Revelry and chose the option that keeps Lunacy inflicted automatically while making suppression easier. Under the December 10 update Lunacy will still apply during Lunar Revelry events by default but players can permanently cure it with a Lunacy Suppressant. If you want Lunacy again you must use a Lunacy Stimulant. Both formulas will be available in the Visional Wheel redemption shop and crafting costs for both items will be reduced.
The updated Lunacy Suppressant protects only from Lunacy so your Sanity will not fall because of the Blood Moon, but Lunar Revelry will still change wilderness rules and cause Deviants to be affected by Lunacy. The announcement also reminds players that Lunar Revelry incidents do not occur on non-Visional Wheel servers so those worlds remain Lunacy free. Players who followed the event’s launch will recall that the team has already been patching Visional Wheel S2: Lunar Revelry issues. For more on earlier fixes to improper drops and an overly punishing boss, see Once Human fixes Visional Wheel S2 Lunar Revelry.
Candidly, this set of changes tilts toward choice. Players who want the full Lunacy challenge will still get it, while others can opt out without needing to grind expensive components. The timed dungeons and separate solo and team leaderboards should spark speedrun-style competition, and lowering material costs for Lunacy items reduces the barrier to trying different approaches.
