Once Human just released its Version 2.1.0 update on July 29, bringing a fresh PvP mode called RaidZone, alongside several new events, Endless Dream server changes, and a handful of optimizations and bug fixes. This update is pretty important if you enjoy competitive PvP or want to try out some new content in this survival shooter.

RaidZone offers a pure survival PvP experience where everyone starts equal, and you have to fight for your life and resources. It’s kinda intense, with no safe spots and the need to build and defend your territory, even when offline. Plus, there are regular server resets to keep the competition fresh. I wonder how many players will become the King of the RaidZone?

Aside from RaidZone, the update also adds new Endless Dream scenario servers, a limited-time Path of Transcendence event, and some neat new items in the shop, including a Golden Surge loot crate and value gift packs. There’s also a new option to change the mobile app icon if you’re on the latest version. Oh, and the devs apologized for a recent compensation email mishap, promising to tighten their review process.

Once Human: RaidZone Official Launch

RaidZone is the big star here. It’s a hardcore PvP mode where servers reset periodically, so every match starts fresh. Everyone has the same health pool, and combat focuses on skill without distinct blueprint effects messing things up. You’ll need to look at, craft, build defenses, and raid other players’ territories to survive.

Combat tweaks include reduced auto-targeting range for melee weapons and independent weapon accessories that you can equip or unequip from your backpack. Friendly fire is now enabled by default, so watch your teammates!

Territory demolition got an update too: you can demolish territories normally within 30 minutes of building, but after that, there’s a short loading time with a chance to cancel. Also, a new protection timer appears on the world map, and turrets now require ammo before firing.

Servers have standardized names with tags indicating reset frequency and PvP intensity, like “Biweekly_Hard-A001.” There’s even a squad sign-up feature so you can team up with friends for the next server cycle. And you can switch between RaidZone and regular mode on the login screen, though some PvP-affecting items won’t carry over to RaidZone.

Endless Dream Scenario Server Updates

New Endless Dream servers with the Visional Wheel S1 – Starfall Inversion tag are opening. These servers will eventually become permanent, but the Manibus dungeon will be temporarily closed on these permanent servers until the next update on August 13.

New Events and Shop Items

The limited-time Path of Transcendence event encourages players to look at RaidZone and complete tasks for rewards like weapon skins, furniture, and dyes. It runs from July 30 to August 31.

The Lightforge Loot Crate: Golden Surge drops after the update, featuring legendary vehicle skins, fashion sets, and collectible furniture. Also, three new Super Value Choice Gift Packs arrive, offering big Crystgin rebates and cosmetics at different price points.

Several combat cosmetic gift boxes are back in the shop, including Ancient Threat, White Care, Midnight Rave, and Ultimatum sets. Plus, new bounties under the Challenge category have been added for players looking for fresh challenges.

New Designer’s Workstation dyes let you customize furniture with matte gold, lively orange, prismatic laser, and deep galaxy effects. You can apply these dyes at your territory’s workstation or directly from your backpack.

Optimizations and Bug Fixes

Here are some highlights from the patch notes:

  • Ursula’s Collapse mechanic now only damages territory buildings within range and no longer causes sanity loss.
  • Weapon accessories are now independent items, making inventory management easier.
  • Reduced auto-targeting range for melee weapons to improve PvP fairness.
  • Added gear locking to prevent accidental disassembly.
  • Optimized multiplayer event experiences and character movement responsiveness.
  • Mobile version improvements include quick demolish, smoother minigame alignment, better reconnection, and battery saver mode tweaks.
  • Fixed various clipping issues with fashion items and furniture skins.

Wow, that’s quite a list! The dev team has been busy tuning combat balance, improving quality of life, and responding to player feedback. The update size is about 2.4 GB on PC and around 420 MB on mobile, so you might want to grab it over Wi-Fi.

For more detailed patch notes, check the official Steam announcement here.

So, what do you think? Will you go into RaidZone and test your survival skills against other players? Or maybe you’re more into the Endless Dream scenarios and new events? I’m curious how this update will change the player experience going forward.
