Fallout: New Vegas may not have been a numbered entry in the long-running RPG series, but it is still regarded as one of the most beloved entries in the franchise. Now, thirteen years after its initial launch, fans and developers alike are expressing their interest in a modern remaster of the game.

In a recent interview with TheGamer, game directors Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky from Obsidian Entertainment, the studio that developed Fallout: New Vegas, expressed their desire to see a graphical remaster of the game. It’s not their first time doing so, too. Cain stated, “Not that it’s up to me, but wouldn’t a graphical remaster of Fallout New Vegas be awesome?” to which Boyarsky responded, “It would be awesome.”

While a remastered version of the game has not been officially confirmed, there have been rumors and reports about the possibility of a sequel or another Fallout game from Obsidian. Previous reports have suggested that a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas is in “very, very early development” discussions at Microsoft, which acquired Obsidian in 2018. Additionally, Josh Sawyer, who directed New Vegas, has expressed his interest in working on another Fallout game in the future.

It remains to be seen whether Bethesda and Microsoft will greenlight a remaster or a new Fallout game. However, the enthusiasm from fans and developers alike suggests a demand for more Fallout content, and a modern remaster of Fallout: New Vegas could be a welcome addition to the series.
