Zelda fans may have gotten an early look at Nintendo’s anniversary hardware. Photos in a Reddit post appear to show a Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 package, a matching Pro Controller, and what appears to be a charging stand, although the images do not confirm that any of the products are real or headed to stores.
2026 marks four decades since The Legend of Zelda debuted. The timing also lines up with the planned The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2, which is due to arrive this year. The packaging itself refers to The Legend of Zelda series rather than a specific game, and it does not indicate that the console would include the remake.
Two X posts shared on August 11 show the reported Pro Controller and matching Switch 2 design.
The first photo shows a red Nintendo package with black-and-gold artwork across the front. Switch 2 branding is visible alongside The Legend of Zelda logo, while a small 40th-anniversary emblem appears near the upper-right portion of the design. The controller shown on the box uses the same dark-gold pattern, while the reported Pro Controller design has dark handles with green accents on either side and a large Triforce symbol at the center. The Joy-Cons also appear to carry matching Triforce artwork alongside their green-and-gold color scheme. A separate view shared on X reportedly shows a small Link sprite from the original NES game on the rear of the controller.
A second image shows the packaging opened, with more views of the Zelda design and a Switch 2 system featured in the printed artwork. The reported Pro Controller appears in separate packaging, while the opened box also shows what appears to be the console’s charging stand, which pairs black with gold. The dock uses a brown base that appears to fade from black into golden triangles, with an ornate Triforce centered on the front. Symbols associated with the goddesses Din, Nayru, and Farore appear around the design. The console itself seems to retain the standard exterior, while the Joy-Cons use a green-and-gold color scheme. That supports the reported Pro Controller connection but does not establish whether Nintendo would sell the products together or separately.
What the Zelda leak does not reveal
The photos provide no price, release date, or regional availability details. They also do not prove that the packaging represents a final retail product, so Nintendo’s plans remain unconfirmed until the company makes an official announcement.
