After a long wait for Ninja Gaiden fans, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound will arrive soon, bringing back the classic side-scrolling action with a fresh twist. This spin-off will remind you why the series earned its tough reputation, and it might even test your patience if you’ve played the originals.

2025 has been quite a year for the franchise. Not only did we get a Ninja Gaiden 2 remake earlier this year, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, but Ninja Gaiden 4 is also arriving this October, introducing a new protagonist named Yakumo. While Ninja Gaiden 4 aims for a more current feel, Ragebound is all about going back to the roots, with a pixel-art style and brutal gameplay.

Release Date and Details

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound officially launches on July 31, 2025. The game is a collaboration between The Game Kitchen, known for Blasphemous, and Koei Tecmo. It’s a 2D side-scroller starring two new ninjas, Kenji Mozu and Kumori, who you will control throughout a punishing story designed even to challenge die-hard fans of the series.

The developers described the game as having a “brutal, nostalgia-filled aesthetic” that pays tribute to the past while pushing the boundaries of pixel art. Expect every fight to be both visually striking and demanding.

Exact Release Times Worldwide

The game will become available at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on July 31. Other regions will follow shortly after, with precise launch times listed below:

Time Zone Release Time & Date
Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) 8:00 AM — July 31
Central Daylight Time (CDT) 10:00 AM — July 31
Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) 11:00 AM — July 31
British Summer Time (BST) 4:00 PM — July 31
Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) 1:00 AM — August 1

So, how high does Ragebound rank on your list of 2025 games? Will it satisfy the craving for classic Ninja Gaiden difficulty or leave you hanging? I know I’m curious to see if The Game Kitchen can capture that old-school magic while adding their own flair.

Please feel free to share your thoughts and expectations in the comments section below.
