On December 5, 2025 a Polish modder published a teardown and test results suggesting Sony’s latest DualSense revision, model CFI-ZCT2W, includes internal changes that extend battery life to more than 15 hours with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers enabled. The claim comes via a post on X from the modder, who describes hardware revisions and efficiency gains.
BREAKING NEWS: CAN'T BELIEVE IT! 🤯

The teardown author says Sony removed a second microphone and revised the controller’s internal electronics, which together lower power draw and produce cooler charging temperatures. In posted tests the pad reportedly lasted over 15 hours of continuous play while using adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
“This result is due to five years of hardware optimization,” the modder writes. “Sony introduced many internal changes from BDM-010 to BDM-060, leading to optimized functionality and huge power savings on the standard 1560mAh battery.” Console-level firmware and system features have also been evolving, Sony shipped updates earlier this year that added DualSense pairing across devices and a Power Saver mode, the PS5 system update 25.06-12.00.00 is one recent example of related platform work. Until independent reviews and lab tests verify the numbers, the claims should be treated as unconfirmed. For consumers trying to tell whether a controller is the newer revision, look for the product code CFI-ZCT2W on retail packaging.
