New player to Overwatch 2 and don’t know what to play? Well, we’re here to help!

If you’re a new player in Overwatch 2 and don’t know where to start and which hero to play with, don’t worry, because we’re here to help you. Let’s say you want to play a particular hero that reminds you of a game, or you have just changed your game to OW2 main, and you’re now confused. Well, don’t worry, we might be able to help you out on this one.

What Character is the most-fitting for new Overwatch 2 players?

In the list below, we’ll add the heroes based on the type of gameplay and similarity to other games, so you could find your designated hero easier, of course, if you’re a newcomer to Overwatch 2.

Mobility junkies: Wrecking Ball

If you’re one of those who want to roll around the map, jump on the player’s hands, and make space, then this is your hero. For example, if you played Titanfall 2, being a ball that’s pretty much everywhere on the field can be quite exciting for you.

Tactical shooters should at least try Cassidy

If you’re into tactical shooters or even the fast-paced Battle Royale of Apex Legends, you might find Cassidy your best choice, simply because the Wingman inside Apex Legends is similar to Cassidy’s primary weapon.

If you’re an Apex Legends player, then Sojourn might be your best bet

As the heading says, if you’re an Apex Legends player, then Sojourn is your perfect choice. And it’s not even hard to play, and basically, your whole rotation is to pump-hold left click into a right click when you get to full energy.

Classic FPS shooters should go for Soldier 76

If you’re a Halo player, then Soldier 76 is your best pick as the hero is pretty much straightforward. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the light recoil.

If you’re a Team Fortress player, consider trying

  • Mauga
  • Bastion
  • Pharah
  • Junkrat
  • Sombra
  • Torbjorn
  • Symmetra
  • Tracer
  • Ana
  • Widowmaker
  • Mercy
  • Mei
  • Winston

All of these are a bit more complicated to play, so make sure you read your abilities before you jump in.

Strategy players should aim for Symmetra

Setting up turrets and creating teleporters can definitely make you feel like you’re playing a different game, but in the end, it all comes down to the very same objective. If you’re one of those who think several steps ahead, then this is your choice.

Fast Paced Action lovers should definitely go for Genji

You might find that players are going to hate you for playing it, but you shouldn’t give up at all, as it is a super fun character to play. If you master Genji, you will master the game.

You play multiple genres and wanna be useful? Then go for D.Va

If you’re a Titanfall 2 player and you enjoy piloting mech but also negating enemy projectiles, then D.Va might be your best option. Unlike in Titanfall 2, you can get out of D.Va’s mech and make it a Time Bomb wiping anyone within line of sight. Even when she does that, she doesn’t sacrifice herself, but instead she’s just a bit more vulnerable.

In short, I tried to tell you which games best correspond to the playstyle of characters in Overwatch 2. I really hope it helps you find your favorite hero.
