Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann is Excited to Reveal More Details About The Last of Us Multiplayer Game

Naughty Dog’s co-president, Neil Druckmann, has confirmed that the studio is currently working on a standalone multiplayer game set in The Last of Us universe. While we’re waiting The Last of Us Part 3, Druckmann assures them that the multiplayer game will be just as big and ambitious as any of the studio’s single-player games.

In a podcast, Druckmann described the upcoming game as “very different” from what he would do, but he finds it exciting to see other people play in this world in a leadership role. The game will have its own story, characters, and setting and will be developed by Uncharted and The Last of Us veterans. Druckmann will serve as more of a producer for the game.

The standalone multiplayer game has been in development for a long time, even before the release of The Last of Us Part 2, and is said to be the studio’s most ambitious project to date. While no specific details about the gameplay or story were provided, Druckmann confirmed that players would hear “much more about” the game later this year.

The multiplayer game will expand The Last of Us world further, which the studio has been working on for a long time. Druckmann’s excitement about the project suggests that it will be a unique experience for players, and one that’s worth the wait.

Naughty Dog is renowned for creating critically acclaimed single-player games like The Last of Us and the Uncharted series. Still, the standalone multiplayer game set in The Last of Us universe promises to be just as big and ambitious, and it’s a project that the studio is clearly passionate about. Fans of the franchise can look forward to hearing more about the game in the coming months.
