Mythical Island Set Takes Pokémon TCG Pocket to New Heights

Do you know that moment when you found a hidden gem in your favorite store? That’s how I felt when I heard about the latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, titled Mythical Island. Just like a delightful surprise ingredient in a recipe, this set promises to add a sprinkle of magic to your gameplay!

The new set is out now and features 68 standard cards and at least 20 secret cards bound to keep collectors on their toes. Plus, there’s an exciting introduction of five new EX cards. A recent announcement described it well: “Experience wonder and whimsy with a new expansion’s worth of cards coming to the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.” Who wouldn’t want some classic Mythical Pokémon like Mew and Celebi added to their collection? These powerful Pokémon exes are ready to bring extra magic into your deck-building adventures.

But wait! There’s more! Alongside these shiny new cards, players can explore several single-player missions designed specifically for this update. Completing these missions will reward players with valuable pack hourglasses, shop tickets, and other goodies.

If that wasn’t enough excitement for one month, The Pokémon Company revealed its first roadmap for future updates earlier this month. It looks like they’re gearing up for more than just pretty cards. They announced plans to introduce new booster packs by the end of the year and even hinted at trading capabilities starting January 2025!

The message read: “To begin with, we plan to add new booster packs by the end of the year,” which should get everyone. They went on further: “In addition, we are aiming to add a feature that allows certain cards to be traded starting in January 2025. We are planning to gradually expand the selection of cards that are able to be traded.” Talk about expanding horizons!

The company also mentioned they have other excellent features that are simmering away in development. So stay tuned. More details will follow as those dates approach! It’s always exciting when developers share what they’re cooking up behind closed doors.
