While the Season is queued to go live soon, the patch is expected to drop for Xbox and PC later in the day, providing gamers everywhere with an explosive new experience that can’t be missed – so brush up your skills because it’s time to do some serious damage.

Update: The complete patch notes for Season 2 update can be found here.

The size of this update is 22GB on the new-gen console. Players of the Call of Duty series can look forward to exciting updates in Modern Warfare 2.0 and Warzone 2.0 season two! Among new features, Resurgence is returning with a brand-new map – Ashika Island – plus 1v1 Gulag experiences that will test their skills like never before. Additionally, four maps are being added for improved gaming and fan-favorite modes, such as Ranked Mode, Infected, Hardcore, and Gun Game mode, included on release day. It’s time for COD players everywhere to sharpen up those battle plans; get ready when Season Two arrives near you soon.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 season 2 starts on Feb. 15, 2023. The launch will happen simultaneously across the whole world. As for the time zones:

  • 9 AM PST for the West Coast of North America
  • 12 PM EST for the East Coast of North America
  • 6 PM CET for Western Europe / Paris
  • 5 PM GMT for the UK

What’s coming with MW2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 2?

  • The long-awaited arrival of Ranked Play will kick off season 2 in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, complete with “CDL-approved rules, restrictions, maps, and modes”.
  • New Contract, Public Event, and More. Hijack a stolen vehicle from Shadow Company forces, hack into uplink stations during Data Heist, and attempt to discover all the secrets that this island may hold…
  • DMZ Expands to Ashika Island. The power struggle continues across a new Exclusion Zone with plenty of new threats to face and a clean slate for all Operators, who will have the opportunity to earn new permanent rewards and Contraband.
  • Resurgence Mode Returns with New Warzone Map. A compact, Japanese-themed map, Ashika Island welcomes all warriors willing to fight for honor and glory.
  • Additional Changes. Season 02’s features include an updated Gulag for 1v1 duels, changes to armor plate vests and backpacks in Battle Royale, customizable Perk Packages in Loadouts, and more.
  • Four new maps are also available; Dome, Valderas Museum (both Core maps), Zaya Observatory, and Al Malik International (two larger-scale Battle maps).
  • A number of classic modes return to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, including Infected, Gun Game, Grind, Hardcore, and Drop Zone (all at launch), as well as Drop Zone, All or Nothing, and One in the Chamber (mid-season).

OTHER SEASON 2 CHANGES AND ADDITIONS

  • Season 2 will launch with the ‘Path of the Ronin’ event, which can be completed by playing either Warzone 2.0 or Modern Warfare 2.
  • Mid-season will see episode 2 of the story-driven Raid mode, which will be detailed closer to launch.
  • New Operators will be available as part of the season pass and store bundles, including the return of Modern Warfare’s Ronin.
  • Five new weapons will be available across the season: the ISO Hemlock assault rifle, KV Broadside shotgun, and Dual Kodachis melee weapon (all at launch), as well as the Crossbow and Tempus Torrent marksman rifle (mid-season).
  • For those hitting the limits of Prestige ranks, the max cap will increase to Prestige 10, or level 450.
