Moss: The Forgotten Relic will launch on PlayStation 5 on July 16, bringing Quill’s fantasy adventure to the console in a new collection that does not require a VR headset. The release date was confirmed in a PlayStation Blog announcement.
The package brings together Moss, Moss: Book II, and the Twilight Garden expansion. Players who already know Quill will be able to revisit her journey, while new players will meet the small mouse hero for the first time through this combined edition.
Quill’s adventure begins after she discovers a long-lost Green Glass relic. That discovery connects her with the player, who takes the role of the Reader, a mysterious presence within the world rather than a distant controller.
The Reader can move objects, clear routes, and deal with dangers that stand in Quill’s way. Quill also acknowledges the player directly, turning the partnership into a central part of both the story and the gameplay. The two characters are described as two heroes sharing one journey, with Quill looking to the Reader for help and reassurance along the way.
The world itself is built around miniature dioramas that resemble pages from a storybook. Ancient ruins, abandoned kingdoms, and oversized creatures create hazards for Quill, whose small size makes every confrontation feel a little more daunting.
For its PS5 release, the collection features updated visuals, a refreshed presentation, and newly made cinematic camera systems. The environments, puzzles, and encounters were revisited to better suit the console and bring players closer to Quill’s world.
