Monster Hunter Wilds is receiving a substantial Title Update 2 this Monday, which promises to reduce VRAM usage and add support for AMD FSR 4.0 and NVIDIA DLSS 4. This patch is a welcome relief for players with GPUs featuring less than 8GB of VRAM and those eager to try out the latest upscaling technologies.

Capcom announced that the update will also separate settings for frame generation and upscaling, allowing players to mix options like DLSS for upscaling with FSR for frame generation. For example, if you own an NVIDIA RTX 3000 series card, you can combine NVIDIA DLSS upscaling with AMD FSR frame generation — a pretty nifty option. The update is scheduled to go live on June 30th at 4:30 AM UTC and will weigh approximately 6GB on PC.

Beyond graphics improvements, this patch adds new monsters, including Lagiacrus and Seregios with their tempered versions, alongside an Arch-tempered Uth Duna coming in a future event quest. Unlocking these beasts requires reaching Hunter Rank 31 or higher and completing specific prior missions. Tempered monsters will also now appear in monster herds, upping the challenge.

There are also numerous other additions, including new equipment, skills, pendants, stickers, voice lines, and Support for Hunters Mina and Fabius—Fabius being limited to a seasonal event. Facilities and base camps receive quality-of-life upgrades, including outdoor item boxes and the option to switch your handler between Alma and Erik after completing the Lagiacrus mission.

Capcom also announced a Festival of Accord event running from July 23 to August 6, 2025, featuring temporary changes to outfits, decorations, and mini-games like Barrel Bowling that will behave differently during the event. Additionally, new limited bounty types and ranking categories for fish and endemic species have been introduced.

Of course, the update includes over 200 fixes and balance tweaks. Weapon adjustments range from damage changes to improved responsiveness across classes like Sword & Shield, Dual Blades, Hammer, and more. Notably, Dual Blades now let you change movement direction mid-Demon Mode dodge, and Charge Blade guard points now have Perfect Guard detection. There are also fixes for various bugs, including issues with VRAM display, quest bugs, and UI improvements like copying Lobby and Squad IDs directly from menus.

In terms of system improvements, VRAM usage has been optimized through adjustments to texture streaming. Although the Estimated VRAM Usage in settings may appear higher due to corrected calculations, actual VRAM consumption is lower. Warning dialogs will appear if your GPU drivers are outdated or the OS isn’t supported, which is a nice touch to avoid headaches.

For those who like to tinker, the update adds new customizable keyboard controls and options in photo mode, including effects and character display adjustments. You can now restock your item and ammo pouches quickly, with automatic ammo pouch restock on item loadout activation, plus new “Take All” and “Remove All Decorations” features to simplify inventory management.
