Monster Hunter Wilds is getting ready up for its release, but if you plan on picking up the physical version, be prepared to hit the download button. Players must grab a hefty 15GB day-one update before embarking on their monster-hunting adventures.

The folks at Capcom confirmed that those who pre-ordered digitally can get ahead of the game by downloading this update now, well before the title’s official launch later this week. It seems Capcom wants everyone ready to go right from the start!

Capcom tweeted: “Picking up a physical copy of Monster Hunter Wilds? Heads up, an update to the latest version of approximately 15GB is required to play. You can download the latest update now if you’ve pre-ordered the digital version.”

If you’re itching to jump into action, pre-loading is currently available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, including through Steam. For those curious about when they can dive in, Capcom has shared an image detailing global launch times. Check it out below.

The talk around Monster Hunter Wilds is actually growing, and we’re lucky enough to be reading about what everyone’s excited. The excitement doesn’t stop there. Players can look forward to the first major free title update slated for spring 2025. This will introduce the Leviathan Mizutsune, a new challenge for hunters looking to prove their mettle.

This development certainly raises some eyebrows. Will this deter players from opting for physical copies? What do you think? Are you ready for another epic hunt with friends or solo? Let us know in the comments below!
