Capcom has released a new patch for Monster Hunter Wilds, version 1.020.030 on PS5, which tackles a handful of technical bugs players have encountered recently. The update primarily fixes the monster size glitch from the previous patch and resolves problems with re-accepting specific monster assignments, among other corrections. While it doesn’t change gameplay balance, these fixes should improve the overall experience.
One of the more frustrating issues addressed was the inconsistency in monster size that appeared after the last update. Players also had trouble re-accepting assignments for the Lagiacrus and Seregios monsters, which now should work properly again. If you’ve been stuck or noticed odd behavior in these areas, this patch is for you.
Patch 1.020.030 Fixes and Adjustments
- Chapter 6 – 1: Links in a Chain: Fixed an issue where talking to Nata sometimes caused the screen to fade to black, blocking progress.
- Resolved problems preventing re-acceptance of the Seregios and Lagiacrus assignments.
- Fixed an issue where editing colors or decorations in Seikret Customization could reset settings to default. If you haven’t changed settings after the reset, original colors will be restored.
- Corrected Lagiacrus sometimes appearing to float through the air.
- Support Hunters can now reliably return to land after underwater combat with Lagiacrus.
- Multiplayer controls no longer become unresponsive after fighting Lagiacrus underwater or on land.
- Field Survey History will no longer be lost unexpectedly.
- Fixed great sword, dual blades, and heavy bowgun attacks occasionally not connecting properly while mounted on Seregios.
- Monster sizes in Saved Investigations have been corrected to their original values before the update.
- Multi-hit effect during charge blade’s Power Axe Mode now consumes sharpness as intended.
- Pop-up Camp site locations will no longer change unexpectedly under certain conditions.
- Other miscellaneous fixes to improve stability.
I find it interesting how certain issues, such as Lagiacrus floating or controls freezing in multiplayer, can significantly disrupt the flow of a hunt. Yikes! Have you encountered any of these bugs yourself? These fixes should smooth out those rough spots.
For those who might have missed it, Patch 2 arrived late last month, bringing new monsters and layered weapons to the game. We’ll keep an eye out for details on Patch 3 and share them as soon as they come.
What do you think about these fixes? Are there still issues you hope Capcom will address soon? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below — I’m always curious to hear your experiences.
