Monster Hunter Wilds could be eager for a fresh collaboration with Street Fighter 6, teasing fans with the chance to snag some cool new layered armor. Capcom recently shared an image that’s got the community talking, hinting at a crossover that might bring some iconic fighting game flair to the monster-slaying world.
On May 19, Capcom posted a mysterious image showing a Palico’s paw against a blue backdrop. The style immediately reminded fans of Street Fighter’s signature spray-painted backgrounds, especially compared to official Street Fighter 6 social media posts. However, this isn’t the first time these two franchises have crossed paths.
In September 2020, Monster Hunter World players could earn layered armor sets inspired by Ryu and Sakura by defeating monsters. Then, in August 2021, Monster Hunter Rise introduced an Akuma armor set that cleverly transformed Sword and Shield attacks into punches and kicks, with kunai attacks mimicking Akuma’s famous Gohadoken and Zanku Hadoken moves.
More recently, Street Fighter 6 celebrated Monster Hunter’s 20th anniversary with a special event offering Rathalos armor, emotes, and titles. Given this history, it wouldn’t be surprising if Monster Hunter Wilds follows suit with some Street Fighter-themed content.
Capcom hasn’t revealed many details yet, but if the pattern holds, players might have to battle monsters to unlock a free armor set inspired by Street Fighter 6. The upcoming version 1.011 update, expected at the end of May, could shed more light on this crossover. Notably, this collab will arrive before Title Update 2, meaning players might face off against Lagiacrus while rocking some stylish Street Fighter gear.
