Capcom is releasing a hotfix today for Monster Hunter Wilds to tackle a couple of pesky problems introduced with Title Update 2 (TU2). If you’ve been noticing stutters when using ranged weapons or crashes when opening specific menus, relief might be just a download away.
The update upgrades the game version to 1.020.01.00 and addresses explicitly two issues. First, the unstable frame rate that triggered weird stuttering for PC players equipping ranged weapons will be addressed. This bug appeared with TU2 and caused some frustration, so it’s good to see it getting sorted out.
Second, the hotfix will resolve crashes occurring when players open the Equipment Appearance and Palico Equipment Appearance menus. Those crashes were another unintended side effect of TU2, and fixing them should make the game more stable overall.
Capcom hasn’t announced the exact release time yet, but once it’s live, Steam will automatically download the patch for you. So, keep an eye out later today.
Just yesterday, TU2 itself brought some notable improvements for PC users. It reduced VRAM usage, which is excellent news if you have a GPU with 8GB of VRAM and want to enjoy higher-quality textures. Plus, it added support for AMD FSR 4.0 and NVIDIA DLSS 4, as well as Multi-Frame Generation for RTX 50 series cards. That’s a nice set of upgrades, but the stuttering and crashing issues meant some players couldn’t fully enjoy them.
