Modern Warfare 2’s SP-R 208 is quite overpowered don’t you think?

Everyone hoped that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 would replenish the shooter genre with some extra action and, most importantly, entertainment. However, the game is currently engulfed by various negativities, one of which is the gunplay itself. I am mainly speaking about sniper rifles, which, inadvertently, turn out to be the most powerful CQB (Close Quarter Battle) weapons. One of them, the SP-R 208…

I can understand being killed from a distance by using a high-magnification scope. But being one-shot by a sniper player while he’s breathing down my neck is something I cannot understand. Whether it’s damage-related or else, these things must change if we want to indulge in a robust and realistic DMZ game mode.

Shortly after the launch of MW2, I realized that SP-R stands for Super Powerful Rifle. And the numbers? 208? It probably allocates its damage output, right? No wonder it’s so strong. I get laid down almost every time I encounter one, especially at close quarters due to its clean iron sight. I am not a guy who plays overpowered weapons, but I have to admit that I’ve tried it once and banned it forever. I am physically and spiritually torn apart whenever I am shot by it. It’s been so bad that I duck in real life when I see a glare in the distance.

Now, what is Infinity Ward going to do about this? How many Twitter or Reddit posts need to be submitted to open their eyes? I know they’re fixing some stuff, but I am still being drawn by atrocities unrelated to bugs, glitches, or other game-breaking issues. It’s just pure balance that gets me off the bar, simple as that.
