Minecraft is introducing some fresh content through its Bedrock Beta, featuring the Copper Golem, new copper tools, chests, and weapons. This update marks the first batch of features in their third game drop, continuing the steady flow of monthly additions planned for 2025.
Just last month, players saw the lively Visuals update and the Happy Ghast Mob. Now, the spotlight shifts to copper, a resource getting more attention with new ways to use it, including a new mob that brings some life and utility to your builds.
Minecraft’s Copper Golem Returns with New Chests
The Copper Golem, a highly anticipated mob, has returned in an updated form. Unlike most mobs, it won’t spawn naturally in the world; instead, players will summon it by placing a carved pumpkin on a copper block. This little helper does more than hang around, it assists in managing your inventory and brings a bit of character to your world.
Alongside the Copper Golem, the update adds Copper Chests. These aren’t your typical storage boxes. Copper Golems can open these chests, shuffle items between them, and neatly stack your belongings. You’ll get the recipe for Copper Chests once you pick one up, which makes crafting them a neat goal to aim for.
For the first time, Copper is appearing as an equipment tier, slotting in durability-wise between Stone and Iron. Copper tools will mine faster and last longer than stone ones, but they won’t yield extra materials. Since copper is fairly common, it feels just right for early-game crafting. It’s kinda nice to have a new option that isn’t too powerful but still useful.
Curious about how all these pieces fit together? The developers have shared a diary explaining the journey behind the Copper Golem, Copper Chest, and Copper Tools. It’s a cool look at how these features came to be.
