Good news for all you Minecraft fans! The live in-game event, themed around A Minecraft Movie featuring the iconic Garbage Man, has been extended. Originally will wrap up on April 7, players now have extra time to jump into Midport Village and fend off those pesky piglins until April 14 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET.
The official announcement came via the Minecraft account on X, stating that the decision came from “unprecedented demand and yearning for the mines.” This is no surprise, considering A Minecraft Movie has already made waves by achieving a record-breaking box-office opening for a video game film, surpassing even The Super Mario Bros. Movie. With $163 million earned domestically and over $300 million worldwide since its debut on April 4, it’s clear that players want more of this blocky adventure.
EXTENDED! Due to unprecedented demand and yearning for the mines, A Minecraft Movie Live Event has been extended and will now end April 14th 2pm PT.

This live event kicked off on March 25 and brings character models inspired by their film counterparts, think blocky Jack Black as Steve alongside Jason Momoa as “The Garbage Man,” Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Hansen. Players can engage in three interesting minigames where completing various challenges unlocks rewards like the coveted Yearn cape!
If you haven’t checked out last month’s Spring to Life update, it introduced cool new mob variants and firefly bushes. And just so you know, there’s been confirmation that no sequel titled Minecraft 2 is currently in production.
