Mega Rayquaza Will Make Its Pokémon TCG Comeback in November’s Delta Reign Set

The set will launch internationally on November 6, with Play! Pokémon prerelease events beginning October 24.

Mega Rayquaza will make its first Pokémon TCG appearance in more than a decade when Delta Reign launches internationally on November 6, 2026. The Pokémon Company revealed the upcoming set alongside Play! Pokémon prerelease events, which will begin on October 24.

Rayquaza’s last Pokémon TCG appearance came in the Ancient Origins expansion during the XY era in 2015. Its return follows the Pokémon’s recent addition to Pokémon TCG Pocket through the Ruler of the Skies expansion.

Delta Reign Adds More Mega Evolution Cards

Mega Rayquaza ex will be joined by Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex, and Mega Golisopod ex. All three forms were introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, giving the new set a strong connection to the latest Mega Evolution push.

Delta Reign will also introduce four new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, six standard Pokémon ex, and 17 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards.

The set will introduce three new Legendary Stadiums, a mechanic that allows two Stadium cards to be played alongside each other. Their artwork connects across two cards, and both halves of each design will appear in the same booster pack, so collectors will not need to hunt through separate products to complete the paired artwork.

What to Expect from the International Set

The international release of Delta Reign is based on Japan’s Storm Emeralda, which launched in July. The set will include 14 Illustration Rare cards and six Special Illustration Rare cards.

Japan’s version featured 12 Art Rares, the Japanese equivalent of Illustration Rares. Japan also revealed three Mega Starter Decks with exclusive Art Rares for Eevee, Zorua, and Sprigatito. Meanwhile, Kyogre has been confirmed as the Elite Trainer Box promo for Delta Reign.

A 30th Anniversary Pokémon TCG video also previews special card types planned for the celebration.
