Hey there, fellow Skavenslayers! If you’ve ever found yourself daydreaming about how to wreak havoc on your friends while playing Warhammer: Vermintide 2, I’ve got some glorious news that’ll have you grinning like a rat with a cheese wheel. The latest update, Patch 6.2.0, has dropped and brings a fresh, furry friend for the Pactsworn side of Versus mode. Say hello to the Rat Ogre!
This new patch introduces our favorite Rat Ogre into the chaotic mix of Versus. When it’s time for our monstrous buddies to join the fun, players can choose between the Bile Troll and this savage beast. But don’t be fooled; while both are terrifying in their own right, they bring very different styles of mayhem.
The Rat Ogre is all about creating chaos, think of it as a blender loaded with heroes instead of fruits. This beast excels at breaking up teams and isolating stragglers, delivering ferocious blows that don’t give anyone room to breathe (or regroup). It’s not just about brute strength; it’s about turning your foes against themselves in a delightful whirlwind of panic!
How to play the Rat Ogre
If you’re itching to explore this rampaging role, here’s what you need to know: much like its counterpart, the Bile Troll, our furry friend has light attacks and heavy attacks at its disposal. A quick tap on your attack button (Default Keybind: Left Mouse Click) unleashes rapid-fire punches that pack quite a punch.
Feeling particularly menacing? Hold down that button for a Heavy Attack, a downward slam that’s not only powerful but also tricky enough to make even seasoned players sweat bullets trying to land it! And let me tell you about his leap ability; holding down your secondary attack button (Default Keybind: Right Mouse Click) lets you charge up for an airborne assault that’ll send any unsuspecting Heroes flying across the battlefield like ragdolls! Perfect for those dramatic entrances we all dream about.
You can also find this information in-game within your handy Handbook!
What’s next?
The excitement doesn’t stop here! The team behind Vermintide 2 is already with ideas beyond just introducing our scaly new friend. They’re taking notes from player feedback and are planning tweaks and features throughout 2025, including Custom Settings for player-hosted games which could spice things up even more.
If you’re still enjoying “The Forsaken Temple” from the Verminous Dreams campaign, hold tight because more maps are on their way too! Oh yeah, and remember that Weapon Pack they teased? Yep, that’s still coming down the pipeline! There might be surprises lurking around every corner… but hey, we can’t spill all our secrets yet!
Barring any hotfixes, which let’s be honest can sometimes come outta nowhere, this marks the last big update for Vermintide 2 this year. And what a year it has been filled with epic moments and exciting chaos!
The team wishes everyone joyous holidays filled with gifts from the Wolf Father himself, and hopes you’ve enjoyed battling through this game as much as they have! See ya next year, drengbarazi.

Your pals over there at Fatshark haven’t forgotten about restoring missing account data, they’re rolling out their three-step plan:
- Stage 1: Gathering account data from storage systems & transferring them into another system dedicated solely for rebuilding.
- Stage 2: Some wizardry will occur here where they organize stats & prep everything needed before merging back into backend.
- Stage 3: Final stage involves updating backend & merging rebuilt data back into existing accounts.
Phew! Stage one is already underway, their efforts involve tons of precious account data so please bear with them while they get everything sorted out smoothly over coming weeks!
A massive thank you goes out from them, for sticking around during these hiccups (seriously!). Now get ready because chaos awaits each time you leap onto that battlefield!
I’m curious though… How do YOU plan on use this newfound power? What planning will come alive now that you can unleash unholy terror upon your friends? Until next time, see you around! Angel out.
