Meccha Chameleon‘s official Discord server has been restored after its recent takeover. The developers said the hackers were banned and confirmed that the community server is available again.
LEMORION shared the update in a July 26 Steam announcement. The short message confirmed the server’s return and directed players back to the official community.
The restoration follows the earlier Discord breach, which left the development team unable to manage the server. LEMORION later reassured players that the incident did not alter Meccha Chameleon‘s game files.
A Separate Workshop Map Malware Issue Was Also Addressed
Before the Discord server returned, players raised concerns about malware behavior tied to custom Steam Workshop maps. Community member Feint described the Laser Tag Neon map as an alleged malware dropper in a technical breakdown, which was later updated to include concerns about Chroma Grid Arena.
The report said some players saw a command prompt appear while Steam downloaded a custom map through Meccha Chameleon‘s in-game lobby, after which the map loaded when the download finished. LEMORION said the vulnerability was fixed in update 3.1.0 and that the affected maps were removed temporarily.
In a separate Steam announcement, LEMORION said the “malicious mod map issue” had been remedied and that “the game itself is 100% SAFE and virus-free.”
Players should still check announcements from LEMORION before trusting any new community links or messages connected to the incident, and should treat unexpected Workshop files with care.
